The Annual Give Me the Bible Banquet was held on January 27, 2024 at the Crockett Road Church of Christ. We had Christians from numerous churches of Christ from Texas and Arkansas attend. The day started off where everyone enjoyed breakfast items and visiting together. Following that we had congregational singing before hearing a very good lesson from Dan Manuel on the subject of "Help and Hope." Following the lesson, we were able to enjoy hearing the Give Me the Bible panelists speak on the "Seven Final Statements Made By Jesus On The Cross." Panelists Joe Hancock, Barry Haynes, Jerry Monholland, Kerry Clark, Kris Groda, James Bivins, Scout Betz, and Rocky Whitely each covered the seven different statements that Jesus made while hanging on the cross. It was a very good program that was enjoyed by everyone.
Following the program and some more congregational singing, Kris Groda (Give Me the Bible YouTube Coordinator) gave an update/report on the number of views on YouTube and the importance of us sharing the videos for maximum viewership.
Christian book authors, Dr. John Hobbs and James Bivins , had tables set-up where those in attendance could purchase books. (You can go to their website by clicking on their name)
We then had a delicious meal of Barbeque brisket, fried chicken, potato salad, beans, and all the trimmings, as well as homemade pies for dessert.
Following the meal, we had more congregational singing and then a very good lesson by Randy Foreman on "Fishers of Men."
We would like to thank Jeannette Alford, Jill Camp, Steve Camp, Donna Costlow, and Linda Hawkins for all of their hard work to make sure the delicious meal was prepared, for working the kitchen, and for keeping the serving line stocked with food. We appreciate all of their hard work in making sure that everything was so good.
